When I was about 19 and doing my professional cookery course as a young commis on Cathal Brugha Street in Dublin, my parents bought me Jamie Oliver’s Italian cookbook, The Naked Chef.

In this, her debut cookbook, she shares 85 recipes that are as straight-forward as they are delicious, such as Braised beef cheeks with sweet potato and basil crush, Dad's fish pie from Howth, vegan pulled pork and Guinness chocolate cake.

Dublin-based chef Sunil Ghai of Pickle, Tiffin and Street Indian restaurants sums it up in his headnote for sweet and sour fish curry: “Home means food cooked by or for your loved ones. Its publication coincides with the fortieth anniversary of the Peter McVerry Trust, a national housing and homeless charity committed to reducing homelessness and the harm caused by substance misuse and social disadvantage. For 2022, they worked with more than 12,000 people in 28 local authorities across the country, delivering homes for people in need. The resilience of our industry is testament to the support we give each other and the learnings we take from each other.

This is the book that I want to hand to my kids when they leave home knowing they’ll have all the basics to look after themselves in the kitchen (and be able to impress if they need to! tips to Anna Haugh whom takes over from Monica as next seasons Professional Masterchef contestants start their journey.Following on from 2022’s successful ambassadorship and campaign with CannedFoodUK and Metal Packaging Manufactures Association, Theo is proud to announce his ambassadorship for a second year. Recipes came thick and fast from chefs like Anna Haugh (beef and red wine stew) and Santosh Thomas (easy chicken curry), food producers – Sally Barnes’ Cullen skink, banana bread from Ellie Kisyombe of Eillie’s Kitchen Home Edition – and butchers, including Rick Higgins (barbecued pork chops with mustard mash) and Peter Hannan (baked sausage meatballs in tomato sauce). Monica Galetti has stepped aside to focus on her restaurant and family, and into her shoes steps Irish chef Anna Haugh. While I treasure Ludwig Bemelmans’ famous Madeline books, it is La Bonne Table, his magnificent writing about the hotel and restaurant world in the glory days of old New York, that I hold most dear.

Through the course of her career, she has gained experience at some of Europe’s most famous restaurants. The book also features some truly inspirational stories directly from those who Peter McVerry has helped out of homelessness.Kristin Jensen , Publisher , Nine Bean Rows adds, “There are a few things that connect everyone, everywhere. A favourite for cultural insight is Food In Vogue — a collection of recipes that appeared in the magazine.

However, she now operates her own restaurant, Myrtle in Chelsea, named after legendary Irish cook Myrtle Allen. I’ve had plenty of opportunities to have a family, especially when I was working for the events company.

In this, her debut cookbook, she shares 85 recipes that are as straightforward as they are delicious, such as Braised beef cheeks with sweet potato and basil crush, Dad’s fish pie from Howth, Vegan pulled pork, and Guinness chocolate cake.
