I think audiences will be hooked on WOLF because you just can't see where it's coming from or where it's going. archives by his wife, Sherri, and predates Jurassic Park (1990), but if readers are looking for the same experience, they may be disappointed: it’s strictly formulaic stuff.

Wolf Review

In the end, the Anchor-Ferrers family were taken captive for two reasons - the first was that so Molina could get Oliver to transfer him all of the family's accessible money, with Lucia knowing that she wouldn't be the one to get it in the will. I'm a huge fan of television so I really have found the perfect job, as I've been writing about TV shows, films and interviewing major television, film and sports stars for over 25 years. There was a lot of digging as I wanted to get to the root of my character to understand why he’s so aggressive in certain situations, when and why he’s become a wolfish character and where the pain is coming from.

It's the Walking Man, an itinerant loner who obsessively circles the site of his own daughter’s murder, who finds the dog, Bear, with the message "Help Us" attached to his collar. Hayder’s great strength has always been her ability to judge pace and knowing when to switch narratives to keep up the tension and the reader turning pages. I spent the last 10 minutes thinking: I can’t believe I’m going to have to watch this whole thing to see if it’s going where I think it’s going.

One of the things I really love about this project is that on paper it might sound like just another crime thriller, but what Megan has done so brilliantly is introduce an interesting genre where she combines crime, thriller, horror and even comedy.Arriving with wife Matilda, daughter Lucia and their dog, Bear, Oliver intends to recuperate after heart-valve surgery. With all of the taut suspense and terrifying twists that have kept her fans on the edge of their seats for years, Wolf cements Hayder’s place at the top of the crime-writing field.

When I got to episode five, I read this particular scene and I just instantly thought, “right, I’m in”. He's also played Ramsay Bolton in the HBO series Game of Thrones, and Mötley Crüe guitarist Mick Mars in the film The Dirt. The thing about WOLF is you have one storyline, which involves Oliver, his wife and daughter and of course Honey and Molina. Lucy Mangan of The Guardian awarded the first episode four stars out of five, praising the performances and unpredictable narrative. Crichton takes a sympathetic view of American Indians and their plight, and his appreciation of the American West, and its harsh beauty, is obvious.

Another adventure for Caffery, a protagonist much like James Lee Burke’s Dave Robicheaux or Paul Cleave’s Theo Tate, doomed to work "in the presence of evil. Rather than be content to give us just another murder-of-the-week, Mo Hayder is going deeper and darker by using the crime genre to explore the nature of obsession and the danger of dwelling too much in the past. After she was bullied and abused by Hugo and Sophie, locked in a cage and branded with a hot poker, Lucia joined Molina in his Bones costume and the pair brutally murdered and disembowelled Hugo and Sophie, with Minnet Kable taking the wrap. And that's what he does for much of the book: travel through the villages outside Bristol trying to piece together who this dog belongs to. Quite where the flawed Caffery will go from here, I’m not quite sure – but along with a legion of others, I’m looking forward to finding out.
