The tablet itself does not have a dedicated OSD settings button, and you instead need to change screen colours through the XP-Pen driver software. Brightness was measured at 190nits which is sufficient for indoor use but definitely not bright enough for outdoor.

Another difference is that the XP-Pen Star 03 V2 has shortcut buttons which feel quite a bit cheaper than the Huion H610Pro V2 shortcut buttons. This is one of XP-Pen’s Artist series display tablets and an upgraded model of the previous XP-Pen Artist 12. Unboxing this tablet was a really pleasant experience, everything was packed beautifully and carefully and it felt like opening a present. This test shows the smoothness of the pen tilt by gradually tilting the pen while slowly moving the pen to the side. I’ve been enjoying digital drawing drawing for a while but the experience I’ve had with XP-Pen Artist 12 Pro is at another level.Adopting fully-laminated technology, the Artist 12 Pro pairs a superb color accuracy of 72% NTSC with a 178-degree viewing angle and delivers rich colors, vivid images, and dazzling details in a wider view. I believe this screen protector will last you quite a while considering mine has absolutely no scratches from my month of testing. Artist12 Pro drawing monitor comes with protective covers(plastic layer) to avoid damages to the surface from hand grease, scratches, etc. Personally, I rank the Huion slightly higher in terms of drawing performance because it has better pen taper for quick strokes, something I use a lot in my art.

However, my explanation above is the main reason why I started saying 8(+1 wheel) is my bare minimum. The pen has 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity, 2 customizable side buttons, has a rubber grip, and a nice red accent ring.If it only costs ~25 USD, a combined cable seems like the better choice because it’s a cleaner one cable solution. The texture is on the smoother side, but it has enough texture to not feel too slippery to draw on, and it also does not compromise screen clarity at all. If you do not take this layer off, you will not get to experience the nice matte texture of the actual screen protector beneath it.

With that said, the smoothness of the pen tilt is much better on the Huion Kamvas Pro 13 compared to the XP-Pen Artist 12 Pro and Artist 15.

For the Red USB Cable, if your computer cannot supply enough power, please plug it to the wall plug. Another issue I always note about XP-Pen’s tablets is that the pen tapering is a bit uneven when doing very quick strokes from 100% to 0% pen pressure. Pro is assuming that the shortcut keys don’t matter and that you can make do with a keyboard or get another device for shortcuts.The colour range, pen tilt, and battery-free pen are also advantages that the Huion has over the GAOMON. I personally like the Huion Kamvas Pro series more than the XP-Pen Artist Pro series because they’re more compact and feel more well built with their aluminum alloy backs. Included with the Artist 12 Pro drawing tablet, the AC 42 easy-to-use stand is built to prevent shaking or sliding as well as relieve eye fatigue and hand stiffness. For this pen, I didn’t find the need to change anything as the pen pressure was decent at default, but the pen pressure graph is extremely useful for making subtle changes to your overall pen pressure.
