Daniel studied for his undergraduate degree at the University of Southampton, before going onto to complete a PhD under the supervision of Professor Robert Raja, during which he discovered ViridiCO2’s ground-breaking carbon capture utilisation methods.

As the automotive sector transitions into a more sustainable mobility sector we are seeing change that is perpetual, pervasive and exponential.We’ve watched too many change makers get stuck in the matrix—minds influenced by the bad thinking of pseudo experts, the persuasive power of unscrupulous marketing, and the short attention span of health and fitness media—unable to figure out what’s true, useful, or important. When we begin to understand this, we can develop strategies that change makers can use to to help get people ‘unstuck’.

Technology can disrupt and disorientate, move fast and break things—but in the right hands it can also cure, connect, educate and empower. On completion of his PhD, Daniel was awarded an ICURe grant, enabling him to spin-out his technology into ViridiCO2 Ltd. Working with the Changemaker Team to develop yourself offers you the opportunity to connect with other students and local, national, and global community partners. This has not only boosted their confidence and self-esteem but has also helped bring their families and communities together. But only if you’re willing to think differently about who you are, why you’re here, how you can make a great living, and how you can make a real difference.

The breakthroughs and innovations that we uncover lead to new ways of thinking, new connections, and new industries. I now realise that I already possessed a lot of the necessary leadership skills– I just needed the confidence to apply them. From my understanding, myself and the other four Changemakers were brought onboard to offer a young person’s voice and perspective on the difficult subject of engaging the youth of today in the arts.
