The Glen Keith 21 year old is exceptionally smooth as Glen Keith’s pot stills are taller than most, giving an extra ‘copper kiss’ to the single malt and resulting in a complex, intensely smooth example of the classic Speyside style, bursting with juicy summer fruit notes. The peat’s very much in charge here, but there are lingering scents of poached pear that come into sharper relief as the smoke blows off. This 21-year-old from the elusive Glen Keith distillery is a fabulously fruity and herbaceous dram that is bottled at 43% abv.There’s that red apple again, then a hint of black banana, wood polish and richer, dark fruits – blackcurrants, damsons and super-ripe plums. From Chivas's Secret Speyside Collection, this 21-year-old Glen Keith comes from selected barrels expressing orchard fruit and nutty notes. Originating as an experimental distillery to produce Scotch for Chivas Brothers’ blends, Glen Keith released its first official bottling, a 10 year old, in 1994.
