I kind of liked the premise and it has been a while since I've read the genre, so I thought I would give this a try. The main character on the police side is DC Charlie Stafford, a young detective constable who is strong and feisty but also compassionate. Each chapter galloped by at a fast pace, the dialogue and characters were faultless and I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish.

The plot device of bringing together the investigation on one side, with Rachel's experience at the hands of her abductor is an effective one.I was lucky in that I had a big pool of women around me most of my life and could afford to run at the first sign of crazy. But can a broken doll ever truly be mended; or will the wounds of the past, fashion the events of the future?

It’s definitely a nod to Funny Games (one of my favorites ) but filled with gore, violence, and bodily fluids. I was well and truly gripped from start to finish and devoured every twist and turn that shocked and surprised me.This time however I found myself rewinding to figure out if you were an American doing an English accent or an Englishman doing an American accent and what do I find? A woman, the same age as her, found slumped in the carriage of the Ferris wheel, red lipstick dragged across her lips, her throat cut. Carol has been economical with the supporting cast to ensure that those who appear are memorable and there for a purpose without overloading us with extras. I, however, am coming to learn that my preference for extreme horror lies with books that are so outrageously unrealistic that I can completely remove fiction from reality. My favourites of course being the darker stuff, point of view characters from the hunter and the hunted.

Winter saugt sich tolle Ideen nur so aus den Fingern und löst auch einfach mal währenddessen nur aufgrund ein paar Unterlagen einen komplett anderen Mordfall. Nice guys tend to form relationships only with partners whom they believe to be “projects” or “Diamonds in the rough.Then there's Oh my God so Beautiful most Beautifulest but tough but so model-gorgeous Templeton who's also super tough but kind of really isn't at all. Also in the works: Television rights for Broken Dolls have been optioned by Sprout Pictures, the production company behind the Emmy award winning SKY comedy Moone Boy. Zunächst hatte ich Angst, dass es auf etwas anderes hinauslaufen könnte, was ich an Thrillern überhaupt nicht mag, aber dem war Gott sein dank nicht so. The battle of wits between him and the determined Winter is spellbinding to witness as the plot unfolds.
