It was built to Vader's specifications by Santhe/Sienar Technologies at the Sienar Advanced Projects Laboratory. As soon as players enter the room with the Planetary Alignment puzzle in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, they can locate the panel with a green ring and two buttons on either side of it.

My guess is that TLG was trying to get across the fact that this set was based on the trench scene in ANH, for the anniversary. It was armed with heavy twin blaster cannons on fixed mounts, and was also capable of carrying secondary weapons such as cluster missiles. Even faster than a standard TIE fighter, Vader’s TIE is customized with bent wings, a deflector shield and a hyperdrive. Vader ultimately redeems himself by saving his son, Luke Skywalker, and killing Palpatine, sacrificing his own life in the process. Utilizing Vader's TIE Advanced x1, the clone traveled to the Imperial-occupied world of Cato Neimoidia.

The LEGO Group has been recreating iconic starships, vehicles, locations and characters from the Star Wars universe since 1999. Enter a battle between two iconic starships from the Star Wars galaxy—the TIE Advanced, piloted by Lord Darth Vader, and the rebels' A-Wing Starfighter.
