About this deal

But all that changes one day to just the reverse when he discovers that his grandma is an international jewel thief—a gangsta granny! The aim of the game is to collect all the letter ‘jewels’ to spell out the word GANGSTA but watch out because the Queen is on the prowl!

But something sneaky is going on and as David deeps deeper, he suspects the secret will be more exciting as he first thought! David’s books have now exceeded 100 non-consecutive weeks at children’s number one, and have been translated into 53 languages, selling more than 35 million copies worldwide. But this sort of humour while it was easy to overlook in this book is making me a little reluctant to dive into others that he’s written though others sound like interesting plots as well.Mark Freeland, the controller of BBC comedy production for the BBC, said: "David asked us not to muck up his massively popular book on TV. this book is really funny because you would expect a granny to be sitting down on her ’ special ’ chair, drinking a cup of tea and reading a newspaper. His books have now been translated into 40+ languages, and also include picture books illustrated by Tony Ross.

The book was very good and i enjoyed reading it, yet i think the film is a bit worse, but not too much. World-famous treasures are stolen in the dead of night and the clues point to none other than The Black Cat?

But there are two things Ben doesn't know about his grandma: 1) She was once an international jewel thief; and 2) All her life, she has been plotting to steal the Crown Jewels, and now she needs Ben's help. I brought this as we’d been on the Gangster Granny ride at Alton Towers and my son wanted to read the book. They gain access to the White Tower in which the Crown Jewels are kept through the complex's sewerage system and a diversion which unsettles the patrols of the Tower's Yeoman Warders. The book has also been adapted into a 130-minute theatre performance by the Birmingham Stage Company. No, not just an interest, but they wish he’d turn a contestant and conquer the dancing world on both sides of the pond.

With obvious comparisons to Roald Dahl's writings, Walliams best-selling and prize-winning books also contain riotous or gruesome humour and touch on similar social themes including crime, poverty, child neglect, greed and gluttony. I don’t know why one would need that in books or even on TV (but I assume it appeals to many else these shows wouldn’t work), but based on this book alone, it would have worked as well without that sort of humour since it does have a story to tell and things to say. The story goes along for a bit as you expect it to, but then also takes a few unexpected turns as well. N.B: possibly the author's highlight due to the BBC film, two stage productions and a children's themed ride!

It's a pale imitation of the original, where that had charm, warmth and humour, and a definite broad appeal for the whole family, this one just lacked anything unique.
