About this deal

I was so sceptical that this was going to be a rubbish imitation but i was so surprised and so was my hubby when i did it for a Saturday night. Extras – When making a lamb doner kebab I love to have all the salad items that you usually get with your takeaway. I was out of both lemon AND lime juice, so I used Jose Cuervo Margarita Mix without tequila mixed in. Perhaps apple cider or wine vinegar, but I've never tried those and don't know how they will change the flavor. I made mine with steamed white rice and I also served it with fresh from the garden pico de gallo and chips!

We are also the authors of The Complete Air Fryer Cookbook, an amazing air fryer cookbook filled with 140+ everyday air fryer recipes. The guys over at Mister Marinade sent me a message to see if I would like to try some of their seasonings, since I have been making more food at home I said yeah as they sounded great. Never left a review for a recipe but chicken can be challenging to make delicious but this recipe will have everyone asking for seconds and for the recipe too. It’s too hot in CA to be using the oven with no a/c 😅 do you have any cooking recommendations for the grill? Lately we only use chicken thighs (not breasts) and I've been using Trader Joe's Soyaki sauce with wonderful results on the grill but this blew soyaki out of the water!

For salad items you can add some lettuce or red cabbage, onion, tomatoes, cucumber and of course lets not forget about the garlic yoghurt. So it’s ok to bake the chicken in that marinate it’s been sitting in for a few hours in the fridge straight to your oven?

For our leftovers, the fat was skimmed off and a little cornstarch to thicken it made a nice Asian sauce to which I added cooked veggies, some leftover rice and chicken.They say it's really flavorful, spicy enough, and adds a real spicy kick to virtually any meat or vegetable dish. This does have some of this quality, however, to get all that flavour you have to use a lot, and this is very very salty in proportion to the spice. I used roasted sesame oil since that was all I had, and this will be the only marinade I ever use again.

Then years later, I met and my in love with Dom and OMG he hated the doner kebab with a passion and always told me that it smelt like sweaty feet and was the worst of the worst of the lamb and other meats and to eat something better. And my hubby is not a guy who is particularly fond of chicken thighs but he said this was like it could have been served in a restaurant he was so happy. I haven't done a whole chicken with this marinade but I've a whole and half turned breast roasted in the oven and it turned out phenomenal. Simple to make, a far healthier and fresher alternative to the Takeaway with all the taste, flavour and texture of the real thing. Seasoning – Then for seasoning of your homemade doner kebab recipe it’s a mix of oregano, mixed herbs, cumin, sweet paprika, garlic and onion powder and cayenne pepper. I followed the recipe choosing to use honey and lime juice (instead of maple syrup and lemon juice).

Cooked it at 400 for 45 mins only because my oven needs to be cleaned and didn’t want to start a fire! After marinating the chicken, while the thighs were in the oven, I reduced the remaining marinade with some brown sugar to make a BBQ sauce.

The best way to cook pork chops is to cook fast at high heat, like pan-searing or broiling, or grilling. Some of my chicken thighs were huge so I added 10 minutes to the recipe and just pulled out the smaller pieces at about the 30 minute mark. You're right abt the possibility of the chicken skin getting charred so I'll lower the temp next time. I am sure this is also why, I originally heard of air fryers in the Slimming World magazine many, many years ago. This is better than another recipe I had done a couple of times where the sauce was done on the stove, the frying the chicken, then blah blah blah, not quick or convenient.
