Fifty Shades Darker concluded on a much higher romantic note than the previous book, but there's still a bit of a cliffhanger in the reveal that someone is out to do Christian and Ana harm, which is still going to make it difficult to wait for the final installment. Ana is disgusted that Christian continues to be friends with the woman who seduced him when he was only 15 years old.
That last sentence made me think of a line from Fifty Shades Darker that I actually didn't mind too much.
They rekindle their searing sensual affair, and Ana learns more about the harrowing past of her damaged, driven, and demanding Fifty Shades. It has everything one wants in a book, it's exciting, funny and well yes lots of sex very erotic sex, but it is also a love story with all the twists of one.
