We learn right away that Belly and Conrad are not together, that she is not planning a trip to Cousins for the summer, and that Susannah has died. Conrad took Belly to her prom, and after acting strange all night, broke things off with her with no explanation. Conrad and Belly kept in touch throughout the school year and even spent some time together as Conrad drove to visit her, but their romance ended in May. This was my favorite show and this book is just so beautiful and enjoyable I love it so much it is my all time favorite book.

She is still pining over Conrad and yet, the first real chance she gets to lock lips with Jeremiah, she jumps right in, managing to hurt Conrad in the process, like somehow although she's known all along that he really loves her, being kissed by his brother, convinces her that she is suddenly over him. But, Belly isn’t fair to him because ever time Conrad says 3 words to her, suddenly she’s begging on her knees for him. I was friends with Marcy, but the rest, Katie and Evelyn and those girls, they were more Taylor's friends. I used to think that if I wanted it bad enough, wished hard enough, everything would work out the way it was supposed to.

If I forgot Conrad, if I evicted him from my heart, pretended like he was never there, it would be like doing those things to Susannah. In contrast to the TV series, the college trip is where Belly finds the infinity necklace from Conrad, and puts it on without seeking his permission.When Conrad tells her he never cared about her, which she knows to be a lie and which happens right after she's been caught up close and personal with his brother, she chooses this time of all the times, to believe that's the truth and when he later tells her it wasn't true, she thinks to herself, aha, gotcha and then ignores his heartfelt words. Second-hand embarrassment is not enough as a feeling to describe what I've been through reading this book. If this summer really and truly is the last summer, it should end the way it started—at Cousins Beach. Conrad and Belly get into an argument over her moment with Jeremiah, and Conrad tells her that she belongs with his brother. Belly did get on my nerves a little bit at certain parts but overall I love that she is a real character with flaws.

Jeremiah , his gorgeous younger brother, is still Isabel's best friend - but maybe friendship isn't enough for him anymore .
