It was overall very entertaining, and I also liked the message: you can't let your past destroy your future. Mum's a dismissive doll who marries for money and suddenly grows a strong opinion on the situation her daughter's in at various points of the story. I am sad that the author doesn’t have any of her works as audiobooks because I would really fly through them if I could double dip.

Overall, "Marry Me Tomorrow" examines the complexities and illusions surrounding relationships, exploring themes of desire, control, abuse, and the unraveling of love. Marry Me Tomorrow caught me as an out-of-the-normal premise in a slew of similar holiday reads, so why not give it a go, I thought.

Literally the only pleasant characters in this book are Emily, Sam, Pam and Brian and Brian's a little iffy. It was funny and entertaining, but also surprisingly sweet and emotional, and from the very first page I couldn’t put it down.

I’d also seen an article about Maxwell Rushton, an artist who’d tripped over a bag of rubbish and apologised to it, thinking it was a homeless person. Although at first I though it will be as generic as the rest of them, I should admit, I judged it too quickly. Anyways, there's also something about the writing that makes it really clear that this is a debut book. surely not desperate to pluck a homeless man off the street, clean him up re clothe him and present him to her mother as her husband.

The repetition of "If you marry me tomorrow" implies a need for reassurance and the anticipation of a shared future. I don't ask for a lot from het romance novels at this point, but as someone in the LGBT community, this one failed and gave me absolutely zero holiday cheer.

The final line, "blow one last little kiss for me," can be interpreted as a final twisted act or as a metaphorical gesture symbolizing the end of their relationship.He’ll go one to the other while one of my friends video tapes and the other friend will play acoustic guitar.
