About this deal

Overall, I enjoyed the writing and the characters and I loved the couple. Those things saved the book for me, but there are definitely some developmental issues for me, which would make you think I would maybe DNF or not read another book but something keeps me holding out hope that the story telling will get better because I really enjoy the style and characters she creates. The conflict was not threaded throughout the plot enough. It would be non existent and then, bam, a chapter with one of the exes, and then they would go away and all would be well. The build of the conflict needed to start earlier and have a better build up. Because so much of the book was them in their happy phase, a lot of it read like we were just following along on their daily lives, little to no plot, character or relationship development. One last thing, the spice was...immaculate to say the least. I can't even begin to explain where my head and voice went with the spice. My spice rating says it all. Nash and Violet's story is a steamy, second-chance sports romance with a grumpy, overprotective hero, angst, and a slow burn that turns sizzling. Sex was ALWAYS on the brain for these two, mainly in the first half of the book. Not even the action of it, just the thought. I hated it.

I loved the aspect of Chase’s story that we don’t normally see in a sports romance. Very interesting to see the male POV and have a bit of role reversal. somehow the enforcer made me fall in love with sports college romance (and reading), to an extent, all over again. this reinvigorated me in unfit body, destitute soul and wretched mind. thank you avery keelan. The Enforcer” by Avery Keelan is the beautiful romance story of Nash and Violet. He had been her first boyfriend who was her first love, her first time, her first heartbreak, and her first everything. After what happened last time, I know better than to fall for Nash again. Not to mention, there’s a strict no-fraternization policy between trainers and their athletes. Problem is, our chemistry is hotter than ever—and he’s determined to make me give him another chance..

Just like many of her contemporaries, Avery Keelan plans her stories very loosely. When she begins writing her story, she usually has an idea of the landmarks she is aiming for and always knows the destination. Since she usually writes genre romance fiction most of her novels end in a happily-ever-after. There is a maturity to Keelan’s writing and characters, and a certain tender vulnerability the heart which beats beneath the heartache and toxicity instilled behind their actions. The strength and the patience of both Violet and Nash, despite their hurts and their fears, was endearing, and I adored Violet’s awareness of her worth and what she deserved. Nash was tough and reserved with just the right amount of soft and sweet in his protective stance towards Violet and determination to do better by her this time around. The sparks flew with every touch and adoring look, and the steam they created together was electric, and I just loved these two. This was a second chance you believed in, a love worth fighting for. I try to keep my distance, but our chemistry is hot enough to melt an entire rink. Before I know it, Nash breaks through my defenses like no one else can, and he scores my heart for a second time. Violet deserves an award for being the most patient person. She was very mature which was a nice change of pace.

It was good but idk I feel like the sex tape scandal should have been something more. It was really played down on what happened after being hyped up about what could happen. They get together early, so early that I was truly concerned with where she would go with this because it was a big book. She could have taken out so much of them in their happy phase (especially since the break up is late and doesn’t last long) and focused more on developing the conflict. I also really loved their cooperation with each other. Violet wasn't the only patient one, Nash was as well. He tried his best to be the guy Violet deserved, he went out of his comfort zone and even tried opening up little by little so there would be no fatal mistakes again. The whole aspect of Nash only loving her and only showing himself to her was one of the best parts of this book, I couldn't get enough of it.
