About this deal

By 1976, Hargreaves had quit his day job. In 1981, the Little Miss series of books began to appear. It, too, was made into a television series in 1983, which was narrated by John Alderton, who, with Pauline Collins, voiced the Men and Misses, respectively. Although Hargreaves wrote many other children's stories, including the Timbuctoo series of twenty-five books, John Mouse, and the Roundy and Squary books, he is best known for his 46 Mr. Men books and 33 Little Miss books. Blue Is Calm: His skin is blue, he's usually quite calm, patient, and rarely ever gets annoyed. This was especially prominent in the 1995 series' episode One Day in the Life of Mr. Perfect, when Mr. Snooty and Mr. Grumpy, both of them fed up with Mr. Perfect's friendliness, did anything they could to make him miserable, but all of their plans failed as Mr. Perfect did not get upset at them even once, much to Mr. Snooty and Mr. Grumpy's chagrin. Aesop Enforcer: He teaches Little Miss Naughty a lesson about playing mean-spirited pranks on people by tweaking her nose every time she tries to play a prank on someone. Mr. Spendy was a jolly fellow who liked to spend his money, never saving for a rainy day, but his good green friend Mr. Thrifty and his family soon showed him the error of his wasteful ways and Mr. Spendy could go on holiday. In the 90s series episode "Mr. Skinny's Incredible Bet", she isn't caught for causing a fight between Mr. Skinny and Mr. Greedy. And I’m guessing this has caused something of an outrage? Yes, and it is long overdue if you ask me – children’s books have a long history of playing up sexist tropes, so it’s great that someone is finally calling them out.

Vile Villain, Saccharine Show: The Midnight Tree is one of the few antagonists in the series that tries to kill somebody. Mr. Bump: Well, I'll buy you a new pair and we'll go skating together. I feel much so safer with you. One-Shot Character: Never seen or mentioned in any other character's story. It's Justified, however, as Father Christmas created Mr. Snow to help him on Christmas Eve, meaning Mr. Snow's only around for one night every year.

One day he goes to school with a boy named William. He proves he can do anything in some amazing ways!

He regularly breaks things he touches by accident. But sometimes it saves the day.... The fact that the book is not written by Roger or Adam Hargreaves could explain why no other Mr. Men or Little Misses that are canon appear in this book. It also explains why he never appeared in any of the TV shows and is not part of the Mr. Men library. Mundane Utility: He often uses his extraordinary long arms for everyday things such as making meals or answering the telephone.
