The abbreviation ‘SRT’ has been used here primarily in relation to Spirit Release Therapy, but can also refer to ‘Spirit Response Therapy’, an approach developed by Robert Detzler 45 as a means of healing in the spiritual domain by use of a dowsingpendulum. Both involve the release of spirits from patients/clients. Energy Vortex The disciples of Dr. Baldwin, who died in 2004, deal with spirits, or “entities,” as they are often called, in a manner very different from most church-based exorcists and deliverance ministers. Missing is the adversarial command to “come out in the name of Jesus!” These alternative therapists treat the spirits with respect and compassion. To threaten anyone, living or dead, they say, only provokes an angry reaction, but a gentler, more rational approach is usually enough to coax the spirit out of its host and into the light of the afterworld, where it should have been all along. There is a rare type of lost soul which I have met only twenty seven times. These are souls of beings who were not human and were stranded here when their bodies died whilst visiting. It is becoming increasingly apparent, from our clinical experience, that if a person has any kind of spirit attached to them it will interfere with any other therapeutic method applied and prevent full recovery. This means that until negative spirit intrusions are removed no medical or therapeutic intervention will work as it should and the patient is likely to continue with a chronic and progressive illness.

The means of spirit communication is mainly through the voice of your client, as spirits speak to your client. We cover therapy to heal the attachment, and ongoing therapy to go to the cause, and prevent future attachment. In the next part of this article I will explore some specific cases that highlight these processes in action. Another important benefit for your own healing has to do with being able to bring to the surface any conscious and unconscious fears and superstitions you may have around good versus evil, concerns over the need for protection, and impressions that have lingered of the more memorable stories that you may have read and movies you may have seen, such as The Exorcist nd Rosemary’s Baby.It is our belief that these conditions stem from an imbalance between the spirit/soul and the mind and body. Into these categories also come those who feel that they are affected by 'negative energies' caused by spirit attachments and psychic invasions.

Crabtree, A. (1993). From Mesmer to Freud: Magnetic Sleep and the Roots of Psychological Healing. New Haven: Yale University Press. I am a CPS Accredited Healer and a Member of the National Federation of Spiritual Healers ( MNFSH), with a certificate in counselling skills.Sue Allen's book is a clearly set-out account of spirit release work, using hypnosis. There are many fascinating case studies, with verbatim accounts of the therapeutic interaction. It contains many tips and practical suggestions. The book is written for the general public. It should also be read by every spirit release therapist. There is a limit to what can and should be communicated about SRT on video alone, or in a Q&A forum. Spirit attachment is the method used by another spiritual energy and is normally a person who has died a physical death that attaches to a living human being. The spirit attaches to a living person and from that point onwards causes the living person a manner of physical and psychological problems. William Baldwin’s Spirit Releasement Therapy: A Technique Manual, published in 1995, was a watershed event for this movement. Dr. Baldwin left a dentistry practice to pursue his passion. His ensuing doctoral dissertation in psychology was the first ever to take seriously spirit release as a legitimate therapy. One summer evening we were called to the home of ‘Mrs M’, a lady of culture and refinement; she was a musician of high rank and when the social demands made upon her proved too great she suffered a nervous breakdown. She had become intractable and for six weeks had been in such a raving condition that her physicians had been unable to relieve her, and day and night nurses were in constant attendance.

For those who are not familiar with the term ‘Spirit Release’, or don’t yet know what Spirit Release Therapy (SRT) or Remote Spirit Release (RSR) are, follow this link for an explanation to the online encyclopedia of the Society for Psychical Research. I connect with universal healing energies and bring them through to the client to recreate balance and harmony on all levels, for their increased wellbeing. Healing can be beneficial in the case of psychic ailments, and in cases of mental, spiritual or emotional stress and distress. It is usually both a calming and revitalising experience. Wilson, C. (1985). Introduction to A. Crabtree, Multiple Man: Explorations in Possession & Multiple Personality. New York: Praeger. Fiore’s research uncovered information that some of the tenets of the ancient Vedic tradition resurfaced in the West in two movements in the nineteenth century with the emergence of Spiritualismand Theosophy. All of these traditions, ancient and modern led to the strongly held belief in the continuation of the individual personality after death. Fiore states that since her research was explicitly aimed at uncovering information on possession by earthbound spirits of the deceased she found particular interest in the Spiritualist and Theosophist movements and their influence on healersin various parts of the world.Spirit attachment, also known as entity attachment, refers to the belief or concept that a disembodied entity or spirit can attach itself to a living person. It is often associated with the paranormal, spiritual, or metaphysical realms. Psychiatrist Dr Edith Fiore’s contribution to the development of SRT 30 is a guide to help sceptical therapists adopt an open minded approach to their patients’ experiences , also providing practical advice for individuals that includes a method to clear and protect themselves from spirit possession. Crabtreehas researched the development of psychotherapy in the treatment of those who are diagnosed, correctly or incorrectly, as mentally ill from his own clinical experiences with patients. 29 Crabtree’s work is significant in approaching these anomalous phenomena from a scientific research perspective. Edith Fiore Again, we are not exactly sure why upon physical death the Spirit of a person would not go over to the light, or to their rightful place. We can only conclude that perhaps they died suddenly or feel they wanted to stay behind and look after a relative or child, or that their work on the physical plane was not complete. They have the option of staying behind and end up between dimensions, not on our physical plane and not where they should have gone either.
