The Adrenaline sits in the middle of Brooks stability offerings, between the Ravenna and the Transcend. With its moderate stability it isn’t as speedy as the Ravenna, nor as bold as the Transcend. When these arrived I was excited to review them because I have never run in a pair of Adrenalines before. When I opened them up I was immediately impressed. Brooks uses 3D fit print to construct the upper of the Adrenaline. There are no overlays as a result. There were no points of irritation. The traditional lacing system allows you to tie once to get the perfect fit. Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21 Conclusion There is a reason it has the GTS (Go To Shoe) label. It is a simple, reliable, and highly enjoyable shoe to run in.

The first time I tried on the Adrenaline 21, two things stood out to me: the snug fit and the firm underfoot. The Fit This is the shoe I was buying a third time after going through all the narrow/Over Pronation/Motion Control study over a week (I could open a running shoe shop after that)….. The durable midsole provided a firm yet responsive ride. The GuideRail system cradled my feet as I ran in them giving me the right amount of stability when needed.

Delivery timescales are esimates in working days; Public Holidays, Saturday's and Sunday's are NOT classed as working days. Saying this, it still felt pretty soft, nicely responsive, and only got better the more miles I ran. The firmness was definitely noticeable at first, but after a few runs, I found that the foam broke in nicely, becoming more supple. If you’re familiar with and/or a fan of the Adrenaline 21 you don’t need to read the rest of this review; it’s the same excellent shoe it’s always been. If you’re new to the model it’s a wonderfully cushioned, almost old-school running shoe that has a high heel to toe drop (12mm), weighs a little on the heavy side and is generally the perfect long-run shoe for those who simply want the most reliability and the least fuss for their long runs. Lofty ambition The Adrenaline is built on tried and true technologies Brooks has tweaked every few years. The Adrenaline and its neutral counterpart the Ghost are Brooks best selling trainers. It was a reliable ride whether it was 2 miles or 12 miles. The midsole was built to last for hundreds of miles. The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21 is a moderate feature, maximum support shoe designed for daily training and high mileage. Sure you could find more visually appealing stability trainers out there but I doubt you will find one that consistently performs as well as the Brooks Adrenaline.

Secondly, the upper has been re-engineered to bring about two things: 1) to be more breathable, and 2) to give a bit more solidity and structure to the midfoot to hold the foot in place better. We loved this. It stretched just enough to allow for freedom of movement but retained enough shape that any unwanted lateral movement sense of bagginess was never an issue. The fit on the bridge of my foot felt a little too snug at first, but once I started moving, I was pleasantly surprised at how the gusseted tongue and laces flexed as my foot did, allowing for a nice smooth transition by preventing any restriction, rubbing or tightness.I knew from experience Brooks trainers take a little longer to break-in.
