About this deal

In this issue, Gin Magazine features a variety of alternative mixers that can be combined with gin. Salt, vinegar, bacon and eggs, peanut butter, and jelly are just a few of the classic pairings. Ginger ale is less popular, but it is not as well known as other beers. To make this drink, combine raspberries with gin in the bottom of a glass, then ice, and finally cream soda. Teas with a herbal or savory flavor, such as Gin Mare and Earl Grey, are appropriate for gins with a savoury or herbal flavor. Because of the combination of pineapple and grapefruit flavors, this carbonated beverage has a fruity, bittersweet taste. Cola’s sweetness may be perceived as a problem by some drinkers, so if this is a concern, try adding a splash of water. Over the past several years, we have watched and waited as numerous retailers have begun crafting their own-label gins. These gins are known to be affordable, and they match the needs of the retailers’ desired target market. The Edinburghian community has been associated with gin since the 17th century. Scotland produces more than 70% of the UK’s gin. Spencerfield Spirit Company, founded in 2005 by Alex and Jane Nicol, is a company that produces Spirit products. In 2014, the distillery and visitor center at Langley Distillery were built, with their original gin created there. The original distillery is in Edinburgh, along with their visitor centre and biscuit factory in Leith, and Edinburgh Gin also owns the Edinburgh Distillery West End. The best results are obtained using a combination of maceration and vapour infusion techniques. There are 14 botanical varieties, which can be processed using a variety of methods.

You can also drink it over ice, which will dilute the strength and the flavours – and the coldness will actually bring out the flavours of the gin. Wash and sterilise the bottle or jar you are using to make your gin (wash it with hot soapy water, then swill it out with boiling water or place it into a pre heated oven for 10 minutes).Today, we are going to be taking a look at Asda’s ever-growing range of traditional gins and innovative flavoured gins, as more and more seem to be getting distilled regularly, leaving us excited to see what happens next. The Boom in Own-Label Gins Gin is great on its own – long summer evenings drinking G&T are a wonderful way to pass the time! But how about jazzing up your favourite drink with some added flavours? If you are a fan of rhubarb then you are probably already in love with its delicate flavour – but have you ever thought of adding it to gin?

So taste the gin at intervals, and once you’re happy with the flavour, filter out all the botanicals using a sieve. If there’s some sediment left in the liquid, use some muslin or a coffee filter to strain it again. Usually, I avoid rhubarb and ginger gins because I find the ginger overpowering, instead opting for juicy rhubarb gins like Warner’s and Whitley Neill. However, I was really surprised at how well rounded the Aldi tipple was, with a tartness from the fruit and subtle spice from the root ginger, one that leaves a tingly aftertaste in the mouth without being bitter or earthy. As you can see, how to make rhubarb and ginger gin recipe is very easy, cheap, and rewarding – give it a try today, and you will enjoy this fruity, warming drink (if you can wait a few weeks, that is!) in your garden bar. The gin should be a neutral, mid range one – don’t go for one that already has flavours in, and don’t worry if it is not the highest quality. You can, of course, drink this delicious infusion neat. It has enough sweetness and fruity flavours to make this quite palatable, but you will probably find that it works best with some sort of mixer, to dilute the sweetness somewhat. You can also pair it with plain soda water, for those who want to remove some of the sweetness and add a nice sparkling mixer.

The Rhubarb and Ginger gin comes in a vibrant purple glass bottle, complete with an orange and gold foil label illustrated with pictures of rhubarb and ginger. It certainly looks the part - and for such an affordable price, the design work is really smart.

That’s not to say that the Hortus liqueur doesn’t mix well: oh, but it does. I’ve had it with the classic Bundaberg Ginger Beer (which I can’t praise enough) and the Fever Tree Aromatic Tonic Water, both of which worked marvelously with the liqueur for different reasons. This Fever Tree Tonic Water in particular matched the liqueur as it has a crisp freshness and a slight bitterness from the Angostura bark which offset the sweetness of the liqueur to leave you with a more well rounded gin and tonic experience. For an added bonus, the tonic water and the liqueur are both pink, and that’s just fun. Rhubarb syrup in other drinks- This simple syrup is so versatile and will pair well with tons of other drinks. We've used it in a cucumber tonic, a Tom Collins, and even as a simple non-alcoholic rhubarb lemonade. Alternatively if you are not a gin drinker then use a similar quality of vodka to make rhubarb and ginger vodka! How do I serve Rhubarb and Ginger Gin? We were inspired to make this having been given a bottle of rhubarb and ginger gin at Christmas, I think that ours is far superior, fresher and far more natural tasting, as well as far cheaper to make.
