About this deal

All of our resources are made by our wonderful team of teachers and designers. This means that you can use these resources with your children knowing that they’re trustworthy, easy to use, and are going to help inspire your children’s learning. What do daffodils symbolise?

Keep wrapping the stem to the bottom of the wire. Tear off the paper, add a dot of glue to the paper strip, and secure it.Hang the wreath up outside. Make sure you keep the moss damp by spritzing regularly and generously with water. Tend to your spring wreath daily to and reposition any daffodils that may have fallen out of place. The daffodil heads are delicate so make sure your hanging spring daffodil wreath is not in direct wind, rain or disturbance. Hung on a door under a porch is ideal. These crafts might need a little more preparation but are super fun for little ones. The hands-on crafts focus on the process rather than the outcome making them fabulous for toddlers and young preschoolers.

This fab tutorial by Laura Howard contains everything to need to know to replicate this felt and yarn spring wreath. Move all the flowers to one side, as well as the top layers of the green until you are left with only the four very bottom sections. The colour of the daffodil also has its own symbolism. The bright yellow colour of the flower petals makes them a symbol of positivity and joy.

Gently push the stems into the moss and secure with a small piece of wire if needed. Continue adding them until you have a dense covering of narcissus. Finish by adding the cherry blossom as a final flourish. The instructions feature handy photos to demonstrate to your children what each step of the craft should look like. At the end of the craft, they should have their own beautiful daffodil wreath that can be used as a classroom decoration, or taken home and given to somebody as a springtime gift. And there you have it, a super simple but effective DIY spring daffodil wreath that only took about 15 minutes to make. Gently stretch sections along the scalloped top of the trumpet so that it has some movement, and use your index finger to stretch the base a little bit so that it looks more like a cup. I should say, that I’m by no means an expert in anything to do with flowers or plants and I totally admit that I even had to google how to soak the oasis for the flowers before I started this project. But, as I got quite a few questions on how to make this wreath I thought I’d share this super easy guide. Seriously, it takes minutes and if I could make it, anyone can!

You’ll need a polystyrene ring as the base for your wreath, some wool felt, embroidery thread, scissors, needles and pins, a glue gun and a couple of other craft stash basics to make your own wreath for spring. To make the daffodils for this daffodil wreath, you’ll need egg boxes. You can either find the egg boxes yourself, or ask your children to bring in their own. This craft is a great way of stopping egg boxes from going to waste, in fact, why not use this craft alongside a lesson about recycling? To change the paper size, go into the dropdowns over on the left side of the screen and choose the paper size that you want to use. You need to change it for every single colour. Don’t forget that you can see our full front door makeover with lots of before and after pictures here. This gorgeous wreath uses REAL daffodils and narcissus so it really is a show-stopper spring wreath for your home. Daffodil flowers first start to show towards the end of winter. For many people, this makes the daffodil a symbol of spring. Like many symbols of spring, they also symbolise new beginnings, rebirth and hope. Can your class think of any other springtime symbols? Grab the template from The House that Lars Built and then either hand-cut the daffodil shapes or use your Cricut or other cutting machine to do the hard work for you.
