What to recycle: You can fully recycle the glass bottle and the cardboard box in your local collection recycling bins. Our reed boxes are made with 60% post-consumer recycled materials. You can use your garden, whatever size it is, to make positive choices for wildlife. Choose at least some plants that are native – whether trees or shrubs, hedges or wildflowers – and others that are attractive to insects. For example, buddleia is great for butterflies, whilst lavender, Verbena bonariensis and Echinops all provide pollen and nectar for bees.Think vertical too. Growing ivy along walls and other vertical surfaces is a great idea. Native ivy is a superb wildlife host – a source of food for birds and insects, shelter for nests and a food source for caterpillars. Give the lawnmower a break. Taking a break from mowing your lawn (or a significant area of it) will encourage the growth of nectar-rich plants, such as clovers or dandelions. These plants provide a vital food source for pollinators. Consider a garden pond. The single best thing for biodiversity in a small space is to add water and you really don’t need much space! We work with four fragrance house suppliers to responsibly source our natural fragrances for Botanica. All fragrance houses have signed declarations of conformity with RB’s ingredients policy, with more detailed due diligence on some natural fragrances. This includes no dyes, no animal testing on final products and responsibly sourced natural ingredients. What to recycle: Our bottles are widely recycled but unfortunately the triggers are not right now. We’re working hard to find a solution, but please in the meantime make sure you place the trigger component and label in the general waste bin. All Botanica candles are made with Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) Certified palm wax (72% certified palm wax and 24% paraffin wax). This replaces the traditional paraffin wax content. RSPO-certified growers produce 19% of global palm oil production. For added transparency and credibility, various social and environmental non-governmental organisations provide their expertise to the manufacturing processes.

Why Botanica?

If space is an issue, you can make use of a flower box and grow native wildflowers or other insect-friendly plants on your windowsill, balcony or even local community, such as community gardens and local parks – just remember to get permission from the owner of the land first. What to recycle: Our glass jar and metal lid can be fully recycled, if completely clear of wax. Please remove the label if able to do so, and place into the general waste. It runs in 8-hour cycles, going on standby for 16 hours, delivering optimal fragrance schedule when you are there to enjoy it.
