we did get a lot of physical connection between them but i so badly wish we got more of their emotional connection scenes solely because i am so obsessed with them. we start with the heroine’s POV - this is so rare these days but really sets up the book to have a little tension. Valentina is a mafia princess on the run from her abusive husband and mafia family, when she runs into our Hero Damiano’s territory. there were a few other little plot twists towards the end that were so anxiety inducing that i was literally talking to myself as i was reading.

I know she was always going to understand why he behaved as he did but *I* didn’t forgive him for his treatment of her so it made it hard to root for him. The beginning didn’t linger for long and I absolutely loved that we saw Vale make her own way before meeting up with Dem. When my resistance to him is all but gone, a secret is revealed, and we fall apart like a house of cards.

I've been raised to be the perfect mafia wife, but when my marriage turns into a horrific nightmare, I have no choice but to leave everything behind and start a new life. There are a lot of enemies to get through and it's obvious this subplot will play out throughout the upcoming books.

The MMC's ( Damiano ) tragic past got me shedding tears and how he grew to this wise , rational and powerful man was mind-blowing . She meets some other women and ends up getting a job at one of Damiano De Rossi's clubs where she is on a performance trial for a week as a cleaner to see if they will hire her. He rules over this island with an iron fist and beneath his strikingly handsome face lies a wicked darkness . When she unravels is a perfect well paced mafia romance story with dual povs and the right amount of spice that'll leave you sweating balls . stars, rounded up because I’m stoked she started in the h’s POV, and this hero never once said he’d like to choke her with his c*ck.

Liked the characters, a couple decent 🔥 scenes, overarching plot and existing character development! If you're looking for a perfect book to get you out of a reading slump or cheer up your day this IS the one because I'm not lying when I say I finished in one sitting. When I was reading I was expecting this extremely jealous possessive alpha male but to be honest that’s not the vibe I got from him. the main plot twist happens half way through the book which i really liked because the build up was perfect and i felt like it gave enough time in the end for everything to work out.We meet him through the h’s POV around 15%… and their encounter builds a little tension, but it is IMMEDIATELY softened by his POV.

Note: When She Unravels is an 18+ dark mafia romance with mature themes, profanity, and plenty of steam. I have this fantasy where I bend you over my desk, fill you with my c💦m, and make you spend the rest of the day with me dripping down your thighs. I just had crap that needed to come out, and when the seed of an idea made its way into my mind, it wouldn’t get the hell out until I planted it into existence.

i actually really enjoyed their “fall out” because as they rebuilt their relationship you could see how pure and meaningful it truly was. I was happy , angry , sad , shocked , all sorts of feelings and the plot twist was unpredictable for me . The h was in a dreadful arranged marriage but it was definitely not the stuff of dark romance fairytales. Damiano was a fascinating and sexy character and I think he perfectly balanced his alpha self with a dash of tenderness.
