One of the most common things beginner painters run into is cutting in paint on ceilings, around skirting boards and other areas that require a neat straight line of paint. OWATROL® OIL is a versatile, highly penetrating air drying oil that can be used alone or added to paint. Used alone it provides a tough, flexible finish, driving out excess moisture and air and displacing it from rusted metal, so stopping rust. Filling dry porous wood to stop paint peeling. Added to any oil or alkyd based coatings and it will give increased wet edge time, improved flow ability, greater adhesion and unlike damaging thinners, will maintain the inherent quality of the paint without affecting its appearance or drying times. But that’s still not all! Owatrol Oil has many other purposes and can even be used for jobs such as sealing patio slabs and also allows you to paint directly onto rusted metal when used as a primer. We know that Owatrol Oil may seem a little expensive but as Scott says, a little goes a long way. You will find that even a small tin can serve you well for many jobs!

To add Floetrol first shake the container well. Then add the Floetrol following the guidelines below and stir the mixture thoroughly. Now apply your paint and Floetrol mixture to your surface in the normal manner. When the wood cannot absorb any more wipe off any excess and allow to dry (overnight) then paint on top as normal. Owatrol Oil allows you to achieve that ‘oily rag’ look, without the mess, while stopping rust and protecting the base metal from further rusting, eliminating moisture and penetrating down to the sound metal. Owatrol Floetrol Waterborne Paint Conditioner can also be used as a medium for acrylic paint pouring art. Its composition helps to create the highly sought after strong, well-formed cells most artists are looking for without compromising the colour of the paint. Preparation Stops rust, stabilises & protects the base metal from further rusting by drivingout moisture and air and stabilises, whilst penetrating and protecting down to the sound metal. the amount of Floetrol added will not change the colour of matt or semi-gloss emulsion or acrylic paints.
